Access to Labour: A Discussion with the Manufacturing Sector

This session will feature speakers that discuss topics such as the BC Labour Market Outlook, Express Entry, BC Provincial Nominee Program, Skills for Jobs Blueprint, Canada/BC Job Grant, Labour Market Partnerships Program, WorkBC, and other education/training supports.

As part of the BC Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training mandate, they are facilitating comprehensive roundtables with key sectors and subsectors of the Jobs Plan as a way to create awareness of and stimulate engagement about how sectors can access labour and satisfy human resource requirements.

Main Objectives:

  1. Share information with sectors and engage in conversations about labour supply and demand (BC Labour Market Outlook), immigration, pathways to citizenship, education, skills training, and employer supports
  2. Inform provincial and federal governments of key industry labour force issues and human resource requirements in order to support the work of the Labour Market Information Office and ongoing implementation of the BC Jobs Plan
  3. Provide employers, public and private post-secondary institutions, K-12 representatives, employers, associations, and government representatives with the opportunity to ask and respond to questions related to labour supply/demand and access to labour. supply/demand access to labour.
